Marketing in Social M E D I A!!!

We can say that in our current society, half of the entire human population uses social media occasionally, some statistics even say that around 58.11% uses social media. From the statistics themselves, we can say social media have changed how we use our time on our daily day-to-day basis. From the young to the old, even businesses now utilize social

media to provide content, market products, and boosting sales This shows how much opportunity there is for business. As a consumer, on the other hand, they also have a lot of benefits from using social media. Some examples are the simple and easy user interfaces that allow people to have easy access to shopping, communication, source of entertainment, and space where anyone could share their content to their likings.

Most of the applications you see nowadays fall under/are deemed as social media, but it can also be categorized into 4 types, which are, social community, social publishing, social commerce, andsocial entertainment. in my personal opinion, being able to differentiate these different types of social media when it comes to digital marketing can give you an upper hand, as crazy as it might seem, It would allow you to identify things like which social media communities to be targeted, depending on the product or service, when it comes to producing valuable and worthy content for products.

When it comes to producing valuable and worthy content for products. customer value: what customers are getting from using or owning the product in comparison to its cost is very important. But as easy as it seems, there is a lot more to what the eye sees when it comes to value creation using social media.

There are also 4 types of customer value: functional, experiential, symbolic, and cost. The function is in terms of the performance of the product or service,
to illustrate this if you were given the choice of buying a smart tv or a normal tv, you would probably buy a smart tv, wouldn't you? it is because it has more functions as well as benefits in terms of efficiency when you use the tv.

Experiential for instance, buying yourself a smart TV could evoke a bigger sense of achievement or satisfaction compared to buying a normal TV, as it feels like more of a luxury and reward to you. Part of it is due to the smart TV's amazing brand image. And the cost is the product worth its value is the customers buying benefitting more from its functions compared to its cost.

All in all, it is just very intriguing how marketing has evolved from using only statistics, to consumers’ demands, and now how value and digital platforms are the current trending effective way to market.

For example creating short videos on Instagram, TikTok, Vine which now no longer exist, videos on youtube, or just 150-word tweets on Twitter. All that effort in order to become viral. Trying to become viral is like trying to become famous, but with the difference of one lasting only for a while one lasts longer. But how does one get viral, why does it get viral, how do people think, or look at viral content compared to normal content?  According to a couple of authors, there's a lot more to why things become viral.  Jonah Berger is one of them, stating that there are 6 steps to follow in order to make a successful email marketing. Social Currency, triggers, emotions, practical value, and stories.  Social currency  Triggers Emotions  Practical Value  And Stories  Compared to Seth Godin a blogger whose blog ranked no 1 out of the 976 ...
